Emojis remover

Remove every emoji from text in one click. Clean captions, comments, data exports and messages for documents, databases and screen readers. Free.

Clean emoji out of any text

Emoji are great in a chat but can cause trouble elsewhere: they break some databases and CSV imports, look out of place in formal documents, get read aloud awkwardly by screen readers and text-to-speech, and can push text over byte limits. The emoji remover strips them out in one pass. Read the edge cases below first, because its emoji list also covers a few ordinary characters.

Paste a social media caption, a customer review export, a chat log or anything else, and copy back clean text.

It's especially useful when moving content from social platforms into reports, spreadsheets, email or print.

How to use the emojis remover

  1. Paste the text that contains emoji.
  2. Submit to remove them.
  3. Copy the clean text.

Examples

A social caption

Input: Great job 🎉🎉 team 👍

Output: Great job team

The emoji go but their spaces stay, leaving a double space.

Numbers stay

Input: Love it ❤️ 100%

Output: Love it 100%

The heart goes and the digits stay.

Skin tones

Input: Thumbs 👍🏽 up

Output: Thumbs 🏽 up

The thumbs-up is removed, but the skin-tone modifier is left behind as a separate swatch.

Tips and things to know

Edge cases and limitations

  • Prices, dates, phone numbers and order IDs keep their digits, # and *. Keycap emoji such as 1️⃣ lose their emoji styling and leave the plain digit.
  • #, *, ©, ® and ™ are removed as well: © 2026 My Botsy™ ✅ becomes just the words with spaces.
  • Flags and family emoji (combinations joined by invisible characters) are removed cleanly.
  • Emoji added to Unicode in recent years, such as 🫠, may not be in the list and can survive.

Frequently asked questions

Why remove emojis from text?

They can break older software and databases, add bytes, confuse screen readers and look unprofessional in formal content.

Does it remove other symbols too?

Yes, a few, such as ©, ® and ™. The digits 0–9, # and * stay, along with letters and normal punctuation.

Will it work on long texts?

Yes. Paste whole documents or exports.

Why do some databases reject emojis?

Older MySQL setups using the utf8 (3-byte) character set can't store 4-byte emoji; they need utf8mb4.
