Image resizer
Resize photos to exact pixels, a percentage or Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn sizes, with an optional KB limit. Batch, in your browser, free.
Resized images
Resize images to the exact size you need
Upload one photo or a whole batch and get files at precisely the dimensions you ask for: type the width and height in pixels, scale by a percentage, or pick a ready-made size for Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest or TikTok. Every result shows the old and new dimensions and file size before you download it.
When a form or website says “maximum 200 KB”, enter that limit and the resizer lowers the JPG or WebP quality step by step until each file fits, using the highest quality that still stays under the limit. No more guessing and re-saving the same photo five times.
Everything happens inside your browser. Your photos are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone, which makes this safe for ID scans, family pictures and client work. Resized files are also stripped of EXIF metadata such as GPS location and camera details.
How to resize an image
- Drop your images on the box, paste them, or click to choose files. iPhone HEIC photos work too.
- Choose how to size them: a social media preset, exact pixels (leave one side empty to keep the proportions) or a percentage.
- If the new shape differs from the original, decide whether to crop to fill, fit inside with a background, or stretch.
- Optionally pick the output format, the quality and a maximum file size in KB.
- Click Resize images, check the new size of each file and download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.
Social media image sizes included
- Instagram: square post 1080×1080, portrait post 1080×1350 (4:5, takes up the most space in the feed), Story and Reel 1080×1920, landscape post 1080×566.
- Facebook: post and link preview 1200×630 (also the standard Open Graph size used by most sites and messaging apps), cover photo 851×315.
- X: post image 1600×900 (16:9), header 1500×500.
- LinkedIn: post image 1200×627, profile banner 1584×396.
- YouTube: thumbnail 1280×720 (keep it under 2 MB), channel banner 2560×1440.
- Pinterest and TikTok: pin 1000×1500 (2:3), TikTok video and cover 1080×1920 (9:16).
Platforms change their recommendations from time to time and compress whatever you upload, so starting from the exact size they expect keeps your image sharp and stops them from cropping it in unexpected places.
Tips for the best results
- Shrinking always looks good; enlarging can’t add detail that isn’t there. If the tool tells you an image was enlarged, start from a bigger original if you have one.
- Use crop to fill for photos, because it keeps the center and fills the whole frame. Use fit inside for logos, products and screenshots, where nothing may be cut off.
- For photos, JPG or WebP at quality 80–90 gives small files that look identical to the original. Use PNG for screenshots, text and graphics with sharp edges or transparency.
- To meet a strict upload limit, combine a sensible size (for example 1600 px wide) with a KB target. Smaller dimensions shrink files far more than low quality does, and they look better.
Limits and things to know
- Up to 30 images per batch, with a maximum output of 16,384 px per side and about 16.7 megapixels, the largest size every major browser can draw reliably.
- The KB limit is counted in thousands of bytes, so a file made for “200 KB” is never over the limit, whichever way the site counts kilobytes.
- Animated GIFs are saved as a still image of their first frame.
- Resized files don’t keep EXIF metadata. That protects your privacy, but it also removes the camera details and the date taken. The photo’s rotation is applied before resizing, so it still appears the right way up.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The images are opened, resized and saved by your own browser with JavaScript. Nothing is sent to our server, so you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and keep working.
How do I resize an image to 100 KB or 200 KB?
Enter 100 or 200 in “Maximum file size in KB” and choose JPG or WebP. The tool tries lower quality levels until the file fits and shows the final size. If it still can’t fit, reduce the width and height as well.
How do I resize without stretching or distorting the photo?
Choose exact pixels and fill in only the width or only the height; the other side is calculated from the original proportions. When both sides are fixed, use “crop to fill” or “fit inside”, which never distort the image.
What size should an Instagram post be?
1080×1080 for a square post, 1080×1350 for a portrait post and 1080×1920 for Stories and Reels. Pick the preset and the photo is cropped from the center to that exact size.
Can I resize many images at once?
Yes. Add up to 30 images, and they are all resized with the same settings. Download each one or get them all in a single ZIP file.
Does it work with iPhone HEIC photos?
Yes. HEIC and HEIF photos are converted in your browser and saved as JPG, PNG or WebP at the size you choose.
